Andy Grinstead applies his notable marketing expertise to his dual roles at Bank Intelligence: that of SVP of Sales & Marketing for our company and expert advisor to our clients. Andy's 20+ years of experience include bank consulting services in the areas of strategic bank marketing, new market entrance, strategic planning, and market planning, among others. He has developed programs for market and revenue enhancement; product development and go-to-market planning; and retail, small business, and commercial customer strategy. Prior to joining Bank Intelligence, Andy served as Executive, Financial Institutions Consulting with Crowe Chizek & Co.

Anne High
Director, Advisory - Bank Intelligence

Anne brings more than twenty years of Financial Service experience to her role as Director. In addition to serving as a Senior Strategist with Bank Intelligence, she has held leadership roles in both Finance and Marketing along with serving in Retail and Operational areas of banks and a captive finance company. In Finance, Anne participated in the implementation of a profitability measurement initiative and held positions in ALCO, financial planning and accounting. In Marketing, she developed a Market Optimization strategy for an $18mm Regional Bank, led marketing research analytics teams and managed the sales performance measurement initiatives. As a former Bank Analyst user in the bank environment, Anne brings expertise in the practical application of the tools for strategic planning, peer analysis and market planning.

Terry Johnson has over 25 years of executive management and entrepreneurial experience in the financial institution industry. His experiences include founding and running a start-up company designed to provide thought leadership to industry executives, serving as the partner in charge of Crowe Horwath LLP’s national financial institution consulting practice as well as the partner who oversaw new product and service innovation for the firm’s financial institution practices. Prior to joining Crowe, Terry served in senior management and executives positions at Fifth Third Bancorp and Michigan Financial Corporation.

Grey Winstead

Grey Winstead
Senior Strategist

Grey brings over 30 years of experience in the executive management of six successful community banks in the metro Atlanta and north Georgia markets.  He is a Certified Public Accountant and a Chartered Global Management Accountant.  His experience includes organizing de novo banks, converting charters and going public and going private capital transactions.  His merger and acquisition experience includes both the sale and purchase of community banks, including due diligence, valuations, negotiations, closing and merger integration.  He has been responsible for strategic planning and execution management, incentive alignment, financial, operations and IT management, investor relations and regulatory relations.  His perspective brings balance to the competing needs of shareholder returns, customer value propositions and regulatory safety and soundness.

Tom Abelmann
Senior Strategist

Tom brings well over 40 years of diverse experience in the management of banks and thrifts, both public and private, ranging in size from $25 million to $11 billion and in financial institution data processing and consulting to the banking industry. He has experience in all facets of banking, having started as a teller and moving up through the ranks as a lender, CFO and Chief Operating Officer, eventually serving as a bank director and as a holding company President. His experience includes merger and acquisition experience including both the sale and purchase of community banks, including negotiations, due diligence, regulatory approvals, and post-merger operational and data processing integration. He has been responsible for strategic planning and financial, operations, compliance risk and IT management. He has a solid track record of improving the financial and operational excellence of the banks he worked for, and brings that experience to bear in his responsibilities as a Senior Strategist.


Alan Smith

Alan Smith has more than 25 years of banking experience, including eight years as Director, President and Chief Operating Officer of a $500 million bank and Director, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of its holding company. As a Senior Strategist for Bank Intelligence Solutions at Fiserv, Alan works in an advisory role to BankAnalyst® client banks helping them make the best use of the online advisory tools for strategic and tactical planning to drive bank performance and maximize franchise value. Prior to joining Fiserv, Alan was the President and Chief Operating officer at The Bank/First Citizens Bank where he was responsible for identifying and executing business priorities which maximized the bank’s value. Alan also held the positions of Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of First Citizens Bancorp, Senior Vice President and Corporate Banker of Wachovia Corporation, and Director positions at The Home Bank of Tennessee and Infinity Mortgage Company. Alan currently sits on the board of two community banks, one in North Carolina and the other in Tennessee. 

Charlton W. Laird

As a Senior Strategist, Charlton has over twenty years of experience executing local market sales and performance management strategies with over fifteen years in Financial Services. He has held Senior Leadership positions in Product and Strategic Performance as well as Senior Retail and Sales Management roles. Charlton has experience in customer performance analysis, budget forecasting, branch expansion and optimization planning, incentive alignment and product and channel development. His diverse experience implementing local market strategies with both large and community banks will offer clients a 'real-world' perspective on the application of the BankAnalyst tools for market growth and expansion, strategic planning and peer analysis.
